Prosody X Evo: bridging the gap between traditional TDM and IP-based networks through evolutionary integration
August 30, 2023 - Milton Keynes, UK - Aculab, an established, globally focused, provider of deployment-proven AI and communications technologies proudly announces Prosody X Evo. With a rich history of providing cutting-edge technologies, Aculab continues to lead the way in facilitating communications across different mediums.
Operating for over 45 years, Aculab remains dedicated to delivering products that redefine how businesses engage with their customers. Prosody X Evo provides feature-rich media processing and call control signalling from Aculab’s proven signalling portfolio, enabling connectivity to both PSTN and IP networks. This hardware ensures fit-for-purpose flexible deployment and cost-effectiveness.
Prosody X Evo presents renowned and reliable deployment-proven technology. The benefits of its architecture include up to 128 SS7 signalling links per chassis, high-capacity media processing capabilities, the ability to split media and control traffic over different networks, and the availability of 4, 8 or 16 E1/T1 trunks. For the 16-trunk variant, there is no need for an application to manage inter-card H.100 bus switching and H.100 timeslot assignment, as all TDM switching between resources on the single presented card may be done point to point.
Prosody X Evo is CE, UKCA and UL global telecoms approved, and provides long-term support of at least 5 years. With high security supporting future and later OS platforms, Prosody X Evo has more scalability and power tracking than the previous model. The high-capacity media processing module doesn’t require any selective download of media processing algorithms, these are all automatically loaded and available to the application immediately, once the chassis is in service.
Furthermore, the new evolutionary media processing and connectivity device supports a broad set of high-level technologies including transcoding between various speech codecs, n-way (both wideband and narrowband) conferencing, Group 3 and T.38 fax processing at up to V.34 speeds, call progress analysis, and live speaker (answering machine) detection.
Prosody X Evo is fully featured to support a range of telephony solutions including IVR, call centres, fax, broadcast, conferencing, VoIP and military applications. With an “in-chassis” implementation, it enables more cost-effective provisioning of your application platform.
Ladan Baghai-Ravary, the CEO at Aculab, commented: “With Prosody X Evo, you can seamlessly connect to PSTN and IP networks while preserving interoperability in the ever-evolving landscape of modern business.”
