What IP Address should ProsodyS v3 applications use for SIP/RTP?
ProsodyS v3 applications should not rely on using the host IP address for SIP/RTP.
As ProsodyS v2 does not report an IP address via acu_get_card_info() it was common practice for applications to use the host PC address when performing SDP negotiation.
ProsodyS v3 can be run on a remote host, the IP address returned in acu_get_card_info() should be used during SDP negotiation.
Note: When installed locally, Prosody S v3 will default to reporting its IP address as 127.0.0.1. It is recommended that on single-homed machines that this address is changed (via the ACT) to the routable IP address of the PC.
